Chicken Shawarma with Tomato and Cucumber Salsa

Ingredients
Chicken Shawarma
1½ tspground cumin
1½ tsppaprika
¼ tspground allspice
¼ tsp chili powder
1garlic clove, grated
6 pieceschicken thighs, skinned, deboned, cut into 1" strips
3½ tbspolive oil
¼ tsp salt
  
Tomato Cucumber Salsa
2 tbspolive oil
2 tspapple cider vinegar
1 tspdried oregano
2Roma tomatoes, chopped
1English cucumber, chopped
1garlic clove, grated
¾ cup red onion, minced
½ cup parsley leaves, chopped
¼ tsp salt
¼ tsp black pepper
  
For serving
1 containerhummus
4 cupsCavendish Farms FlavourCrisp Fiery Cajun Straight Cut Fries 
4pita 6" pita pockets
  

 


Directions
  1. Chicken Shawarma
    1. Mix cumin, paprika, allspice, chili powder and garlic together. Place the chicken inside a re-sealable bag with the olive oil. Add spice mixture and rub until fully coated.
    2. Seal the bag and place in the refrigerator to marinate for at least 30 minutes.
    3. Preheat grill to medium-high heat.
    4. Thread marinated chicken strips on skewers.
    5. Sprinkle with salt and place on hot grill for about 4 minutes per side.

    Tomato Cucumber Salsa
    1. Mix oil, vinegar, oregano, tomatoes, cucumbers, garlic, lemon juice, onion, parsley and salt and pepper.
    2. Refrigerate until serving.

    For Serving
    1. Fill the pitas with the grilled chicken and Fiery Cajun Straight Cut Fries. Serve with the tomato cucumber salsa and hummus.
