Cavendish Farms Expands to Western Canada
(Dieppe, NB – December 10, 2012) – Cavendish Farms announced today it had concluded an agreement to buy the assets of Maple Leaf Potatoes, the frozen potato business of Maple Leaf Foods Inc., including a 142,000 sq. ft. processing facility in Lethbridge, Alberta. The transaction is expected to close by year-end 2012.

Prince Edward Island Potatoes Win Championship Honours at Royal Agricultural Winter Fair

Moncton Mets kick off Fill the Truck 2012 drive!
(Moncton, NB - July 6th, 2012) Two of Atlantic Canada’s leading food companies, Cavendish Farms and Ganong Bros., are partnering with the Moncton Mets of the New Brunswick Senior Baseball League to spearhead a push to replenish the shelves of area food banks, culminating in a “Fill the Truck” weekend food drive on July 21‐22 at Kiwanis Park and local businesses carrying out food drives within their workplace to support the cause. The goal of the initiative is to fill the shelves of the Moncton Food DEPOT Alimentaire which in turn distributes food to the food banks throughout the Greater Moncton.

Cavendish Farms now fuelled by cleaner-burning Natural Gas
(New Annan, PEI – June 12th, 2012) Cavendish Farms celebrated the official opening of its natural gas receiving station at a ceremony held at the New Annan site today. The successful implementation of this leading-edge natural gas sytem generates thermal energy which fuels the company's potato processing plants and eliminates the use of 22 million litres of heavy fuel oil annually.
