Bistro Style Moules Frites

Ingredients

  • 1 bag Cavendish Farms Restaurant Style Frites Extra Thin Gourmet Fries
  • 4 tbsp butter
  • 2 leeks (or 2 shallots), finely sliced
  • 4 garlic cloves, minced
  • 1/2 red chili, thinly sliced (optional)
  • Salt and pepper, to taste
  • 2 lbs fresh mussels, cleaned and debearded
  • 1 cup chicken or vegetable stock
  • 1 lemon juiced
  • 4 tbsp chopped fresh parsley
  • Mayonnaise, to serve (optional)
  • Lemon wedges, to serve

Directions

  1. Preheat air fryer to 400°F.
  2. Spread Gourmet Fries in the air fryer basket and cook according to packaging instructions.
  3. To prep, heat butter in a large pot over medium heat. Add leeks (or shallots), garlic, and red chili if using. Season lightly with salt and black pepper. Sauté for 2–3 minutes until soft and fragrant.
  4. Add mussels and pour in the stock and lemon juice. Cover with a lid and steam for 5–7 minutes or until the mussels have opened. Discard any that remain closed.
  5. Stir in chopped parsley.
  6. Serve mussels in a bowl with the broth. Add cooked Gourmet Fries on the side with mayonnaise for dipping and a wedge of lemon!
