Ingredients
- 1 bag Cavendish Farms FlavourCrisp Crinkle Cut Fries
- 2 tbsp butter
- 1 large yellow onion, thinly sliced
- Salt and pepper, to taste
- 1 tbsp fresh thyme leaves
- 1 tbsp all-purpose flour
- 1 cup beef broth
- 1 cup Gruyère cheese, grated
- 1 cup cheese curds
Directions
- Preheat oven to 450°F.
- Spread Crinkle Cut Fries on a parchment-lined baking sheet and cook according to packaging instructions.
- To prep, make the French onion gravy. In a large skillet, melt butter over low-medium heat. Add the sliced onions and a generous pinch of salt. Cook for 15 - 20 minutes, stirring every few minutes, until the onions are deeply caramelized but not burnt.
- Add the thyme leaves and flour to the caramelized onions. Stir to combine and cook for 1 minute.
- Slowly pour in the beef broth, stirring to combine. Simmer for 5 – 7 minutes, stirring occasionally, until slightly thickened. Season with salt and pepper, to taste.
- Remove the cooked Crinkle Cut Fries from the oven and top with grated Gruyère cheese. Return to the oven for 3 – 5 minutes, until the cheese is melted.
- Top with cheese curds and generously spoon the French onion gravy over top before serving.
